Just read this article about some draft legislation in Tennessee that could have some interesting impacts.

If you're in or around Tennessee, this is something worth keeping an eye on. I'll follow up with more information as we learn about it.

Following up on this report, I've discovered the bill in question and the story is a little more interesting than presented in the story.

The bill doesn't actually propose capping standard state act comp benefits, instead it proposes minimum benefits for a proposed opt-out provision in TN workers' comp. This is very similar to what has been enacted in Oklahoma and it's being lobbied for by a national organization.

The bill was proposed earlier this year and has been put on the calendar for the 2016 legislative session.

You can find the full information on the bill at http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/Billinfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=SB0721&ga=109
